Introduction to Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) - Keynote

This keynote address will introduce participants to the principles and practices of Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD), a strategy for sustainable community-driven development. ABCD focuses on identifying and leveraging the existing strengths and assets within a community, such as the skills of local residents, community associations, and institutions. Participants will learn how to shift from a needs-based approach to one that empowers communities by recognizing and mobilizing their own resources to drive positive change. This session will provide practical tools and strategies for implementing ABCD in various community contexts.

Cultivating a Culture of Abundance

This session explores the mindset and practices needed to cultivate a culture of abundance within communities and organizations. Participants will learn how to move beyond scarcity thinking—focusing on limitations and deficits—toward a framework that emphasizes possibility, collaboration, and shared resources. By recognizing and amplifying the assets, talents, and opportunities that exist, participants will discover ways to foster environments where creativity, innovation, and resilience thrive. Through interactive discussions and real-world examples, this session will provide actionable strategies to build a culture where everyone can contribute to and benefit from collective success.
